I love that we live in such a technologically advanced society. I enjoy connecting with a lot of people on a daily basis, and I enjoy that we can do so many more things on the go. What I miss sometimes about the past, or as Boy Wonder calls them, “the olden days” (thanks kid), is being able to wedge the over-sized receiver between my shoulder and my ear without pushing a million random buttons.
I mean let’s get real, cell phones aren’t designed for long meaningful conversations. There is something overtly sexy about a woman sitting on a chaise lounge talking to her lover while twirling that curly cord on her finger. Hell, with the right outfit she can even make a long wait on hold with the cable company look sexy.
I found something that made me so excited about being able to recreate that retro phone feel. These Retro POP Handsets come in every color you can think of and a few blinged out versions as well. I am partial to the bright orange, but I may buy a few because we girls must coordinate. Obviously these are not meant to carry around with your cell at all times, but wouldn’t it be funny. Imagine next time you are sitting in traffic and not moving (I stress the not actually driving part) and you whip your retro handset out to call your honey and tell him you are running late. Twirl the cord as you dreamily look into the unsuspecting vehicle next to you…funny stuff.
Seriously, this handset gets major cool points for not getting overheated while you talk, being easier to use for long conversations, and clarity. They make them for most all smart phones, Ipads, and computers for Skype and VOIP use. There is also a one touch button to use to connect/disconnect.For between $15-$29 each on the basic colors it is definitely worth having at least one. Even if you only use it for longer phone calls, looking sexy, twirling the cord around your finger on that chaise lounge….
